Text: Romans 1:16 (KJV): For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

Introduction: Have you felt like you wanted to do more for the kingdom but didn’t know how, or felt intimidated? Or maybe you just got saved and are wondering what is next.

  • 2 Corinthians 5:20 (NIV): We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.

Title: Recruiting Soldiers

Proposition: Be All You Can Be in God

  •  Ashamed: (embarrassed) Let’s have the courage to stand firm for truth and righteousness. Today, the trend is away from the values and principles the Lord has given us, you will almost certainly be called to defend that which you believe.
    • Mark 8:38 Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.
  • Planted (being in the best possible place and most fertile soil): If the roots of your testimony are not firmly planted, it will be difficult for you to withstand the ridicule of those who challenge your faith. When firmly planted your testimony of the gospel and your Heavenly Father will influence all that you do throughout your life.
    • Psalms 1:3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither, and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
    • Psalms 92:13 Those that be planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God.
  • Power: (Dunamis: God’s Power lives inside us we can be used by Him as an unstoppable vessel for good.) This kind of power is an inherent force. It flows from a person to give them the ability to do supernatural things, like miracles or morally excellent acts. Now put your faith to action. Allow this power and the Holy Spirit to lead and guide you.
    • Act 1:8: But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you; and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem and in all Judea and in Samaria and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
    • Ephesians 6:10-13: Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggles is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore, put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
    • Other Scriptures: (Ephesians 1:18-20, Ephesians 3:20-21 and 2 Corinthians 12:7-10)

Interrogative: Do you want to join the army of God?

Transitional: Now Hiring for Full Time Position. Hooah is the war cry of the United States Army, United States Air Force, and United States Space Force. I use it today as my battle cry to you for the Kingdom of God.

Conclusion & Altar Call:
We are called as Christians to spread the good news. Let your light shine in such a dark world. We cannot conform to this world as we are not of this world. We cannot blend in with the world we are different our purpose is different than other communities. But we first must believe it and go through the persecution. You and I have a specific purpose, and God has equipped us with special gifts and talents to fulfill the calling He has on each of our lives. We must not be afraid of the enemy. (John 10:10) The devil comes to steal, kill, and destroy. The first thing he takes is our voice by placing fear in us to not speak of the good news. This good news is not just for us it’s for the whole world to hear but most importantly for the next generation. We are to put on The Full Armor of God and fight a good fight of faith and believe we can change and save these souls.

With that said, who wants to come joins the army of God. Build a community of believers that will go out full time to do this work. If you are one, come to this alter. If there are those of you who have not given your life to Christ and want to be part of the army of God as you feel a tug in your heart, come to this alter we will pray for you and recruit you as well.
